PAITHANI

Paithani is one of Maharashtra’s most treasured handwoven traditions, originating from the historic town of Paithan. Often known as the “Queen of Silks,” it is admired for its luxurious silk body, rich zari borders, and vibrant play of colour.

Its motifs are often inspired by nature, peacocks, lotuses, vines, parrots, and floral forms woven with remarkable precision and grace. While classic silk Paithanis remain heirloom pieces, cotton Paithanis are now making their own mark, bringing the beauty of this tradition into lighter, more everyday drapes. Regal, festive, and timeless, a Paithani carries the grandeur of heritage in every weave.
