Daman is an intense pen and ink artwork inspired by the Indian mythological story of Shree Krishna and Kaliya Naag Daman. The composition captures the divine moment where Krishna subdues the mighty serpent Kaliya, symbolising courage, balance, protection, and the triumph of grace over chaos.
Created directly with pen on Fabriano paper, the artwork was drawn without any pencil sketch, base drawing, or correction layer. Every line, texture, shadow, and detail was built entirely by hand, making the process deeply instinctive, precise, and unforgiving.
The artwork took nearly 275 man-hours to complete. Its coiling serpent forms, intricate detailing, rhythmic movement, and spiritual intensity make Daman a striking original piece for collectors of mythology-inspired art, fine drawing, and contemporary Indian visual storytelling.
